PDX PAH Membership Transparency

PDX PAH is registered as a Social club, But What is a “Social Club”?

Social clubs are exempt from federal income tax under IRC 501(a) as organizations described in IRC 501(c)(7) if they are "organized for pleasure, recreation, and other nonprofitable purposes." They were originally granted exemption from federal income tax in the Revenue Act of 1916. Generally, social clubs are membership organizations primarily supported by dues, fees, charges or other funds paid by their members.

For more information on the 501(c)(7), Please follow this link to the IRS website outlining the rules and status of a 501(c)(7) charter organization

How to become Active in the PDX PAH Community

Feel like some changes need to be made, or have an idea for something we could be doing better? The best way to make your voice heard is to join a committee!

First step to join a committee, simply attend our monthly board meeting (every third Saturday, 11:30 AM at the McMenamin’s Chapel Pub) or write your declaration to bark@pdxpah.com so that we may add you to our “new business” list and vote you onto the desired committee.

Second step is to be added to the appropriate designated committee chat on telegram, and to attend the next meeting. Most committees allow a remote sign in via zoom, google meets, or other safe online video chat service.

Third step is to keep attending, offering ideas, input, and other valuable information! We cannot grow without you!
